2 PC Stainless Steel Ball Valve (F/E) SS 304

A two-piece, flanged-end ball valve manufactured in SS 304 for tight shut-off and long service life across water, steam, oil, air and gas lines. Actuator-ready with an ISO 5211 mounting pad, PTFE seats, and a low-friction gland packing system — designed and tested to international standards.

Designed to BS 5351 / IS 9890 / ISO 17292, with flanged ends as per ASME B16.5 and factory tested to BS 5146 / ISO 5208 / API 598, this valve suits process plants, CGD/PNG networks, HVAC systems, plumbing lines and food & beverage utilities. Available in sizes 1/2" to 4" (DN15–DN100).

Product Overview

The 2 PC Stainless Steel Ball Valve (Flanged End) SS 304 is a quarter-turn shut-off valve built around a two-piece SS 304 body, joined by high-tensile bolts and sealed with a PTFE body gasket. Splitting the body into two parts means the ball, seats and stem can be inspected or replaced without cutting the valve out of the pipeline — a major advantage in continuous-duty plants where downtime is costly.

Inside, a solid SS 304 ball sits between two PTFE seats, giving a bubble-tight seal with minimal operating torque. The stem is sealed with a PTFE gland packing system that can be re-tightened through the gland nut, extending the valve's working life well beyond standard packing arrangements. A blow-out-proof stem design keeps the stem captured inside the body even under full line pressure, which is a key safety feature for gas and steam service.

Flanged ends drilled as per ASME B16.5 make this valve a drop-in replacement for existing flanged pipelines, and the ISO 5211 mounting pad on top of the body means it can be converted from manual (lever-operated) to pneumatic or electric actuation at any point in its service life — no separate valve body or adapter kit required.

Key Benefits

  • Serviceable in-line: two-piece body allows internal parts to be replaced without removing the valve from the pipe run
  • Corrosion resistant: SS 304 construction handles water, mild chemicals and outdoor exposure without rusting
  • Low maintenance: PTFE seats and gland packing reduce friction and extend seal life
  • Automation-ready: ISO 5211 pad supports pneumatic and electric actuators without modification
  • Leak-tight shut-off: full-bore ball design gives bubble-tight closure and minimal pressure drop when open
  • Standards-compliant: manufactured and tested to internationally recognised design and test standards

Industries We Serve

This valve is engineered to handle the operating conditions found across these industries:

  • Water treatment & plumbing: potable water lines, pump stations and building services where corrosion resistance and long service life matter
  • City gas distribution (CGD/PNG): gas isolation points requiring blow-out-proof stems and tested shut-off integrity
  • HVAC & chilled water systems: isolation and zoning valves in commercial and industrial HVAC loops
  • Boiler & steam utilities: steam line isolation where PTFE-sealed, low-torque operation is needed
  • Oil & fuel handling: fuel transfer and storage lines needing a corrosion-resistant shut-off valve
  • Food & beverage processing: SS 304 wetted parts suited to hygienic and washdown environments

Construction & Material Highlights

Every wetted metal component that contacts the process fluid — body, body tap and ball — is manufactured from SS 304 for corrosion resistance. Sealing components (ball seats, stem seat, gland packing and body gasket) use PTFE for its low friction and broad chemical compatibility. See the full material breakdown, part numbers and quantities in the material list table below.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Flush the pipeline before installation to remove weld slag or debris that could damage the ball or seats
  • Install with the valve in the fully open or fully closed position, never partially throttled for long periods, to avoid premature seat wear
  • Use matching flange gaskets and torque bolts evenly in a cross pattern for a leak-free joint
  • Periodically operate the valve through a full cycle to keep the ball and seats free of scale build-up
  • If seal wear is noticed, the two-piece body allows the seats, packing and gasket to be replaced without removing the valve from the line

Quality & Certification

Poline Technologies operates an ISO-certified manufacturing facility in Surat, Gujarat. Each batch of valves undergoes hydrostatic and seat leakage testing before dispatch, in line with BS 5146 / ISO 5208 / API 598, so every valve leaving our facility meets its rated design and test standards.

2 PC vs 3 PC Ball Valve — Which One Do You Need?

A 2 PC (two-piece) valve, like this model, has a body split into two bolted sections — compact, cost-effective, and easy to service in-line. A 3 PC (three-piece) valve adds a separate centre section holding the ball, so the entire trim can be pulled out without disturbing the end connections at all — useful in lines that are welded or hard to realign. For flanged, boltable pipelines where periodic maintenance is expected, the 2 PC design offers the best balance of cost, footprint and serviceability.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a 2 PC ball valve?

A 2 PC (two-piece) ball valve has a body made of two separable parts bolted together, allowing the internal ball and seats to be serviced without removing the valve from the pipeline.

What is the maximum size available in this SS 304 flanged ball valve?

This model is available from 1/2" (DN15) up to 4" (DN100).

Is this valve suitable for steam applications?

Yes. The valve is rated for gas, air, steam, oil and water service, subject to PTFE seat temperature limits — contact our team for exact pressure-temperature ratings for steam duty.

Can this valve be automated with an actuator?

Yes. It comes with an integrated ISO 5211 mounting pad, so a pneumatic or electric actuator can be fitted directly without modification.

What standards is this valve manufactured and tested to?

Design is as per BS 5351 / IS 9890 / ISO 17292, end connections to ASME B16.5, and testing to BS 5146 / ISO 5208 / API 598.

Where can I get the datasheet for this valve?

Use the "Download Datasheet" button on this page, or contact Poline directly via WhatsApp or phone for a PDF copy and quotation.

Can the internal parts be serviced without removing the valve from the pipeline?

Yes. The two-piece body can be opened in place, allowing the ball, seats, gland packing and body gasket to be inspected or replaced without cutting the valve out of the line.

Why choose SS 304 over brass or cast iron for this valve?

SS 304 offers significantly better corrosion resistance than brass or cast iron, making it suitable for outdoor exposure, water treatment, food-grade and mildly corrosive process lines where a longer service life is needed.
